Araha Park boasts a 600m long white sandy beach, a variety of playground equipment such as the "Indian Oak" replica of an old sailing vessel, a 3-on-3 basketball court, and a shaded resting spot with long tables and benches. The beach offers plenty of marine activities, including parasailing and dragon boat rides, and many people enjoy running and walking on the seaside promenade in the mornings and evenings. It’s a 15-minute walk through Chatan Park from the Mihama American Village or 5 minutes by car.

The British ship "Indian Oak" ran ashore off Chatan in the 18th century. The people of Chatan rescued the crew and provided them food and shelter until they could return. The playground replica of the ship has become a popular playing spot for children.

Permission from the manager is required for business activities such as filming and organized events in the park. Please submit an application to our center for permission.
